Karnataka Tourism made a notable stride in expanding its international presence through its impactful participation at the MITT Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition from March 18 to 20, 2025. This was followed by a successful roadshow in St. Petersburg, Russia. These initiatives were designed to position Karnataka as a top-tier travel destination for Russian tourists while fostering stronger connections with the Russian travel industry.
Karnataka Tourism Unveils Its Rich Offerings at MITT Moscow 2025
At MITT Moscow 2025, Karnataka Tourism made a grand impression with its vibrant stall, officially opened by Mr. Nikhilesh Giri, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India in Moscow. The Karnataka delegation, led by Ms. Salma Fahim, IAS, Secretary of Tourism for the Government of Karnataka, was also present, along with key tourism stakeholders. The stall highlighted the state’s vast tourism assets, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites, serene beaches, wildlife sanctuaries, hill stations, and a vibrant cultural heritage.
The exhibition garnered significant interest from travel trade professionals and visitors, who were drawn to Karnataka’s harmonious fusion of history, nature, and modernity. Engaging audio-visual displays showcased iconic destinations like Hampi, Mysuru, Coorg, and Bengaluru, alongside emerging gems such as Jog Falls, Gokarna, and Bandipur National Park.
Karnataka Tourism Roadshow in St. Petersburg: A Resounding Success
Following the success at MITT Moscow, Karnataka Tourism took its efforts to St. Petersburg on 21 March 2025, hosting an influential roadshow. The event, which was attended by Her Excellency Ms. Neelam Rani, Consul General of India in St. Petersburg, gathered over sixty prominent figures from Russia’s travel industry, including tour operators, travel agents, and media professionals.
The roadshow provided in-depth insights into Karnataka’s tourism opportunities, alongside B2B networking sessions that celebrated the state’s rich cultural heritage. The event underscored Karnataka’s commitment to welcoming Russian tourists by offering enhanced connectivity, streamlined visa processes, and customized travel packages.
Russia has become a significant source market for Karnataka Tourism, with increasing demand for cultural, adventure, and wellness tourism experiences. Karnataka Tourism’s involvement at MITT Moscow and the roadshow in St. Petersburg reflects its strategic initiative to capitalize on this growing interest and establish the state as a premier destination for Russian travelers.
