Ryanair recently released a new booking system which is a game changer for protecting passengers from unaffiliated booking markups and flight misinformation. It is designed specifically for offline travel agent use and is referred to as Travel Agent Direct. With this system, authorized agents can automatically receive updated Ryanair schedules as well as gain real time pricing on Ryanair flights. This eliminates unauthorised resellers and price inflation for critical flight alerts. Ryanair is prioritizing passengers and protecting them from fare scams while enabling real time updates and alerts.

A Secure Booking Alternative for Offline Travelers

Even in today’s highly digital travel landscape, many passengers still prefer the personalized service offered by traditional travel agents. Whether due to age, location, group bookings, or comfort, offline booking remains a strong preference for a wide customer base. Until now, those agents have struggled to offer low-cost airline tickets without relying on third-party aggregators — many of which lacked transparency and raised concerns about passenger data accuracy and pricing.

With Travel Agent Direct, these travel sellers can now access the airline’s extensive network of flights directly from the source. Covering more than 230 destinations across Europe and operating thousands of flights daily, the airline’s network is now officially open to authorized agents through a single, secure system — ensuring consistent pricing and accurate information throughout the booking process.

Passengers booking via offline agents using the new platform will receive flight updates, gate notifications, and itinerary changes directly from the airline, eliminating the need for extra steps like manual verification or re-entry of booking details.

Eliminating the Hidden Costs of Unauthorized Resellers

The platform is also a response to ongoing issues caused by unverified travel agencies, both online and offline, that have historically accessed airline data without permission. These unofficial sellers often add extra charges to base fares, conceal price breakdowns, or prevent passengers from receiving vital updates. As a result, travelers are frequently left uninformed about changes or delays and must go through additional verification steps to regain access to their own bookings.

By offering a legitimate channel for offline agencies to book tickets directly, the airline hopes to eliminate these issues entirely. Every fare booked through Travel Agent Direct is transparent, with no hidden fees and no reliance on unapproved third-party systems. The system also ensures that customers maintain a direct relationship with the airline, which is critical for managing disruptions, refunds, or rebookings.

Empowering Traditional Agencies With Modern Tools

For years, many retail agencies have struggled to keep up with the growing complexity of airline distribution — especially when dealing with low-cost carriers that typically restrict access to their inventory. This new platform aims to correct that imbalance by giving offline sellers access to the same flight data and live pricing found on the airline’s own digital platforms.

Beyond just booking seats, Travel Agent Direct provides tools to manage reservations, access fare classes, track flight changes, and deliver updated information to customers promptly. By removing the friction from offline sales, the platform allows agents to offer a service experience that rivals — and in some cases, surpasses — what’s available online.

This shift comes at a time when trust and transparency are key concerns for travelers, particularly after years of uncertainty in the aviation and tourism sectors. Customers are increasingly seeking clarity on what they’re paying for, along with dependable channels for receiving updates and managing their itineraries.

A Step Toward Safer and Smarter Travel Sales

The launch of Travel Agent Direct fits into a broader industry trend toward ethical and transparent flight distribution. By bypassing unauthorised sellers and empowering traditional agents with the tools they need, the airline is taking a stand against data scraping, fare inflation, and customer service breakdowns.

The new system is expected to roll out across key travel markets in phases, with onboarding materials and training available for interested agencies. Once connected, these agencies will be able to offer their clients the same reliability, pricing integrity, and seamless experience as the airline’s direct customers — while retaining the human touch that offline agents are known for.

This initiative represents a clear shift in how low-cost air travel is delivered through offline channels, prioritizing the needs of the customer and the integrity of the booking process. With this launch, the airline is laying the foundation for a more responsible, secure, and service-focused approach to flight distribution — and inviting traditional travel agencies to play a larger, more trusted role in the modern travel experience.
